60% growth in new ESMT Executive MBA intake
• New Executive MBA class starts with 50 participants from 18 countries
• Students with an average of 10 years’ professional experience
ESMT European School of Management and Technology welcomes its new Executive MBA (EMBA) Class 2011-2013 in Berlin today. With 50 students, it is the largest class since the inauguration of the first EMBA program at ESMT in 2007. This development in EMBA numbers is part of the continuing growth story of ESMT, which was ranked #17 worldwide for its executive programs earlier in 2011 by the Financial Times. The new EMBA students come from 18 countries and strengthen the international profile of ESMT. The class includes participants from across Europe, North America, Russia, South Africa, India, Malaysia, and China.
“We are delighted to see the positive development in our Executive MBA enrollment this year. This is in no small part due to the testimonials of outgoing participants who have been tremendous advocates for the value of the Executive MBA for their careers. We are particularly pleased with the diversity of the group, both in terms of nationalities and industries represented, but a bit disappointed in the proportion of women enrolled,” says Nick Barniville, Director of MBA programs at ESMT.
The ten women and 40 men of the class of 2011-2013 are on average 35 years old with 10 years of professional experience. The majority of students come from multinational companies such as Allianz, Bayer, Bosch, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, E.ON, J.D. Power and Associates, KPMG, Lufthansa, MAN, ThyssenKrupp, as well as Parker Hannifin, Pfizer, SAP, Siemens, and the Unicredit Hypovereinsbank. Other participants represent mid-size firms and NGOs, such as Riverland, the Russian Regent Holding company, and the United Nations and bring entrepreneurial and NGO-experience to classroom discussions. “ESMT’s faculty is excited to work with this very international and diverse group of experienced managers and to support them throughout their journey of learning, development, and self-reflection,” comments Zoltán Antal-Mokos, Dean of Degree Programs.
During the 21-month program the students develop their ability to lead in a global marketplace. The program combines onsite modules with e-learning supported self-study and an international field seminar. ESMT programs focus on responsible and sustainable leadership, European competitiveness, and the management of technology. ESMT’s EMBA program has been accredited by AMBA and FIBAA.
