Digital Society Institute announces cooperation with Castex Chair of Cyber Strategy at IHEDN in Paris
The collaboration with IHEDN promotes research and exchange projects in France and Germany to foster the scientific discussion and new perspectives around cybersecurity issues. At joint conferences, the institutes will combine their knowledge and thereby intensify the discourse on digitalization.
Sandro Gaycken, Director of DSI, comments, “To understand the global dimension of cybersecurity, a widespread academic exchange about political, social, and digital mechanisms is increasing in importance. The cooperation with the researchers of the IHEDN supports new approaches and strategies in terms of cyberspace and cyber defense.”
The Castex Chair of Cyber Strategy was established in 2011 within the IHEDN endowment fund and was named after the founder of the IHEDN, Admiral Castex. The chair aims to strengthen fundamental and applied research in the geopolitics of cyberspace. Moreover, it creates a platform for scientific resources and debate. Its research focus includes geopolitical and strategic aspects as well as legal and sovereignty issues in cyberspace.
The Digital Society Institute explores the economic and social impact of increasing digitalization and provides an inter- and transdisciplinary interface. Main research focuses include questions of cybersecurity and innovative cyber technology. The DSI is supported by global companies such as Allianz, BASF, EY, and Volkswagen. In November 2016, the institute announced its cooperation with the cybersecurity center at Tel Aviv University.
