ESMT: Tagesspiegel Diversity Scholarship for ESMT Executive MBA program
- Scholarships for Executive MBA for applicants from Germany who are first or second generation immigrants to the country
ESMT European School of Management and Technology announced the Tagesspiegel Diversity Scholarship today. Der Tagesspiegel is awarding this partial scholarship of 40,000 EUR to enable a first or second-generation immigrant to study at ESMT in Berlin. The scholarship is for the modular Executive MBA program (taught in English) starting in October 2012. The application deadline for the scholarship is July 31, 2012.
Internationality and diversity are important factors at ESMT. One focus of education at ESMT is to promote outstanding talents with diverse backgrounds. Already, about 50 percent of the school’s 80 Executive MBA participants are international, while the 41 students of the current full-time MBA class come from 24 different countries. About 80 percent of the faculty members at ESMT are non-German.
“ESMT’s Executive MBA programs support participants in developing their managerial and leadership skills and is often the catalyst for a major career boost,” says Zoltán Antal-Mokos, Dean of Degree Programs at ESMT. “It is particularly rewarding to work together with students from different cultures who bring a diversity of perspectives into the classroom.”
“Executives who are first or second generation immigrants are still under-represented in Germany’s boardrooms. With this scholarship we would like to contribute to the quality education of this population and support diversity in the workforce,” explain Stephan-Andreas Casdorff and Lorenz Maroldt, editors-in-chief of Der Tagesspiegel.
Applicants to the EMBA require a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience and a bachelor’s degree. Applicants for the scholarship must meet the general eligibility requirements of ESMT and also write a short essay in which they explain how they have addressed diversity in their personal or professional life.
