EFA was created in 1974 with backing by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and in close cooperation with the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM). It aims to provide a professional society for academics and practitioners with an interest in financial management, financial theory, and its application. The association's annual meetings provide the opportunity to present research in the fields of company finance, investment, financial markets, money, and banking.
